Music

Music forms an important part of the Curriculum at Prescott Primary Northern. Students are involved in music classes weekly from Reception to Year 7 with a different focus each year, aimed at developing their understanding, enjoyment and use of Music. Some examples of this are the focus in Year 6 on Drama, both theoretical and practical; percussion ensemble playing and cross-arts focus in Year 5; notation and development of interest in various musical instruments, giving students an opportunity for exposure to playing various instruments in Year 4.

Prescott Primary Northern also runs a private, individual music tuition program from Year 3 to Year 7 where students can individually pursue the development of their ability on their chosen musical instrument, with many students sitting the externally marked Australian Music Examinations Board music exams in various instruments. Instruments taught at the school are Clarinet, Saxophone, Pianoforte, Flute, Violin, Guitar (various styles) and Drums.
